Echocardiography is the best way to achieve information on the hemodynamic determinants, making it crucial that echocardiography finds its way to the hemodynamic unstable patients.

FATE converts “thinking” to knowing: “guess dynamics” into hemodynamics!

What is the FATE Protocol?
"Focused Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography" (FATE) is goal-oriented cardiac and pleura imaging for “Point of Care Ultrasound”, ideal for hospital settings such General ICU’s. FATE saves lives, optimizes treatment, improves workflow and supports key decision making.

FATE is easily and quickly learned and meets the basic echocardiographic needs for the non-cardiologist in order to guide cardio-pulmonary optimisation. FATE also provides a quick guidance to interpret the echocardiographic findings and to put it into appropriate clinical context.

The FATE protocol was developed in the 90'ies and published (2004) by Dr. Erik Sloth. The essential elements of FATE can be printed on a double-sided laminated card (request one here), and carried in the pocket. Thousands of FATE cards have recently been distributed worldwide.
